#2 The Principle of Correspondence

As above, so below. As below, so above.

This maxim, ancient and oft repeated, proposes that patterns repeat themselves across differing planes of existence. The small reflects the great. The inner mirrors the outer.

A single leaf contains the pattern of the tree. The movement of celestial bodies finds its echo in the rhythms of the atom. Thus, by studying one level of reality, insight may be gained into another.

#3 The Principle of Vibration

Nothing rests. Everything moves. Everything vibrates.

All things, whether visible or invisible, are in constant motion. What appears solid and still is, in truth, composed of particles in ceaseless activity.

Imagine a violin string. When drawn by the bow, it trembles and produces music. The difference between one note and another lies in the rate of vibration. So too, according to this principle, the difference between forms of matter, or even states of emotion, lies in frequency rather than substance.

#4 The Principle of Polarity

Everything is dual. Everything has poles.

Seemingly opposite qualities are in fact extremes of the same continuum. Heat and cold differ only by degree. Light and darkness are variations of a single scale.

Picture a thermometer. There is no sudden break where warmth becomes chill. The transition is gradual, a shifting of measure. In this view, opposites are reconciled by understanding them as differing points along one line.

#5 The Principle of Rhythm

Everything flows, out and in. Everything has its tides.

Life moves in cycles. The pendulum swings from one extreme to another, and its movement to the right determines its eventual return to the left.

The rise of empires, the turning of seasons, the fluctuations of mood all testify to this law. Stand upon the shore and observe the sea. The tide recedes, yet only to gather strength for its return. The wise student seeks balance amidst this perpetual motion.

#6 The Principle of Cause and Effect

Every cause has its effect. Every effect has its cause.

Nothing occurs in isolation. Every event arises from preceding conditions and in turn generates consequences of its own.

Imagine a line of falling dominoes extending beyond sight. Each tile that topples is both effect of a prior movement and cause of the next. What many call chance is, in this philosophy, merely a cause not yet perceived.

#7 The Principle of Gender

Gender is in everything. Everything has its masculine and feminine principles.

This principle does not concern itself solely with physical distinctions, but with creative polarity present throughout nature. The masculine principle is associated with initiative and projection. The feminine principle is linked with reception and generation.
